I am a contemporary British painter living in a village on the Welsh borders in Herefordshire. I love walking and being outdoors in the landscape or by the sea. My paintings are expressions of the emotions I feel in a place. I don’t aim to represent a place but what it is like to be in such a place…. the cold of the wind, the warmth of the sun, the vastness of a view or moods of the sea. My love of the wild, empty landscape has led me to consider the timelessness of the world, our place in it, and the mystery of existence. We are a single part of the world and all the parts sit together.
