the cold of the wind
and the love of the wild
To me, the world is full of everyday wonders. I’m drawn to mystery and the unknown, and my art reflects my journey of thinking about nature’s timelessness, our role in it, and the stories from myths and folklore that also inspire me. Living on the Wales/England border and spending time in Brittany, I’ve always felt a deep connection to Celtic myths, which often feature strong women. This has led me to reflect on the role and treatment of women throughout time.
I love being outdoors—whether it’s in the landscape or by the sea, especially when it’s wild and untouched. My paintings capture the emotions I feel and the spirit of a place, while also exploring our connection to the world around us.
I believe everything in life is connected, and we all share a responsibility to care for the planet’s future. My paintings are a reflection of this belief—each one is a piece of me.
A little more about me:
I paint on canvas, paper, board, or cradled panels. I love the buttery texture of oil paint, which often shows through in the finished work
I was born in Birmingham and lived there until about ten years ago. Now, I split my time between Ludlow and Brittany. I’ve exhibited at The Old Lock Up Gallery, Cromford, the Footprint Gallery in Jackfield, in Ludlow, Birmingham, Broadway, Church Stretton, and in Brittany. In 2020, 2021, and 2022, I was a finalist in the Broadway Arts Festival Exhibition, and I’ve also had paintings selected for the RBSA Friends Exhibition in both 2021 and 2022. I’m also a member of the Ludlow Art Society.
